First introduced as part of the 2011 Halloween Event, these encounters inside towns are part of the 2018 Halloween celebration which also includes Spooky Machine cracked buckler event. Trick-or-treaters can be encountered at Izlude, Prontera, Morroc, Payon, Geffen, and Al De Baran.

1. Walk near any of the following locations until a voice asks you if you want a trick or treat:

  • Bigfoot - East side of town outside of the former Hall of Fame building (izlude 207/151)Paste Ingame

  • Doram Sailor - East side of town

• Locations in Payon:
  • Baphomet - Outside of the tool shop (payon 149/77)Paste Ingame
  • Wolf - Inside the inn
  • Baby Leopard - Near the Trap Specialist
  • Deviruchi - In the Palace Square
  • Doram Kitten - On a ledge overlooking the river
  • Doram Chef - On a hill at the Northern-side of the town

  • Potted Basilisk - Southwestern side of the inner circle
  • Shiny Object - Behind the stairs towards the Northern portal
  • Scarffed Doram - Northeast side of the city in the marketplace

• Locations in Al De Baran:
  • Dracula - Bridge south of the clock tower (aldebaran 144/63)Paste Ingame

  • Doram Vigilante - Western side of town beside a small windmill
  • Doram Vigilante - Eastern side of town at an outdoor dining area

Note: Walking near any of the above locations will reveal a Costumed Child trick-or-treater which you can talk to. Waiting near these locations is the easiest way to find them. If you re-log, they may go away. After an offer is finished, there is a short cool down before another trick or treat opportunity will be offered.

2. You have several choices among which are to offer a treat, demand a trick, or offer zeny. Each has different results.

• If you offer a treat of any of the following items:
  • Candy
  • Candy Cane
  • Well-Baked Cookie

The trick-or-treater will then give you something random in return.

• ODA Elixir/Miracle Buff for 1 hour
• Battle Manual Buff (+50% Exp) for 30 minutes
• Job Manual Buff (+50% Job) for 30 minutes
• Bubblegum Buff (+100% drop chance) for 30 minutes
• Authoritative Badge Buff (+Movespeed%) for 3 minutes
• 15 Butterfly Wings
• 5 Blue Potions
• 5 Chocolate
• 3 Speed Potions
• Dark Mane (Skelion Pet Accessory)
• Red Bell Necklace (Scatleton Pet Accessory)
• there's also a small chance that you will receive nothing (not sure if intended)

• If you demand a trick, your sprite will be changed to that of a monster such as the Jakk from Geffen dungeon.
  

• If you offer zeny, your sprite will be changed to that of a monster such as the Quve from Niffleheim.
