Living their life serving the Church, Acolytes are thoughtful protectors and healers of all that is good in the Rune-Midgarts Kingdom. Though they are still new to holy magic, their Heal and buffing skills ensure the party can keep fighting and their Holy Light keep Undead monsters at bay. Growing up in the Capital City, Prontera, and seeing the plights that plague their fellow man, they have learned how to use their skills to protect fellow adventurers from evil and that, sometimes, they must use force when diplomacy fails.
Acolytes are not able to equip any bladed weapons to fight but their dedication to all that is good allows them to fully support themselves and others with holy powers bestowed from the Gods. Acolytes are more evenly rounded in stat bonuses but will either focus on INT for MATK & SP or STR for ATK, depending on the path they chose to go down for the Church.
Job Changing
editOnce you are a Job Level 10 Novice, you have 2 methods of changing into an Acolyte:
- Go to the Church in northeast Prontera . After entering the Church, enter the first portal room on the right. Talk to the Cleric located at the end of the hall in the north part of the room at and he will change your job to Acolyte, rewarding you with a
Novice Mace [3].
- Pursuing this method also unlocks the Holy Light Skill for free right as you change.
- Alternatively, go to the Acolyte Classroom on the 2nd Floor of Criatura Academy and speak to the NPC, Acolyte Leader Alice, located at . She will warn you that you will not receive the bonus Job Skills listed above if you use this method and thus it is not recommended.
Builds
editI. Heal & Holy Light / Support Acolyte
edita. GAMEPLAY:
This build focuses on an INT/MATK-focused stat layout. You will either need to play Support with a party, aiding them in battle through Heal, Blessing, and Increase Agi as they kills monsters... or you can play Solo by killing primarily Undead monsters by Heal "bombing" them (using Shift+Left-Click or typing /noshift) and/or using Holy Light (this will work on non-Undead monsters, offering more flexibility). This build should be used if preparing to become a Priest as your 2nd Job.
- Alternative gameplay: Due to lack of parties and focus on solo-play, using the Mercenary System to do the killing for you is also a viable option for leveling to your 2nd Job. You can purchase
Scaraba Scroll contracts from players or get a free Mercenary from Clearchus in Eden Group HQ if under the VIP Buff.
b. STATS:
You may allocate certain status points depending on your preference but the idea is to focus on increasing INT and DEX status as they increase your MATK and reduce Variable Cast Time. Investing in VIT early can also help with survivability.
Base level 40 base status distribution suggestion:
- STR: 1
- AGI: 1
- VIT: 20
- INT: 50
- DEX: 24
- LUK: 1
II. Auto-Attack / Battle Acolyte
edita. GAMEPLAY:
This build focuses on an STR/ATK-focused stat layout. The goal is to quickly whack monsters using Mace-type weapons, one-by-one, after buffing yourself. This build is best if you are a low budget player looking to kill monsters on your own while using your support skills (i.e., Heal, Blessing, and Increase Agi) to keep yourself alive and buffed, especially since you can always Stat Reset yourself when ready to choose your 2nd Job if you wish to go more magic-focused. However, this is the build you will want to use in preparation of becoming a Monk.
- Alternative gameplay: Due to lack of AOE skills for this class, it it recommended to get any slotted Accessory carded with a
Marine Sphere Card to use Magnum Break on mobs of monsters to level. However, this will not be an option for a brand new player obviously.
b. STATS:
You may allocate certain status points depending on your preference but the idea is to focus on maintaining high STR for ATK and AGI for high ASPD, while maintaining some INT for a decent SP pool to support yourself and DEX to be able to hit monsters.
Base level 40 base status distribution suggestion:
- STR: 30
- AGI: 40
- VIT: 1
- INT: 16
- DEX: 20
- LUK: 1
Tips & Tactics
editGeneral Leveling Strategy
editBelow are three suggestions to efficiently level a new character:
- Get gear and experience for your new character by following this Izlude tutorial guide from the forums (this guide is also listed down below in the Acolyte equipment section with additional details).
- Using
Catherina Von Blood [1], you can level as soon as base level 3-56 in Sunken Ship. Talk to Fisk and pay 250z to go to the . Use any AoE skill available for your class (e.g., Magnum Break, Fire Ball, Cart Revolution, etc.). You may use
Marine Sphere Card to use Magnum Break if your class does not have an AoE skill. - Without using
Catherina Von Blood [1], using the Payon Bounty Board Quests, kill Willows until level 21 and Bigfoot until level 41. Then, using the Eden Group Leveling Quests, kill Orcs, Orc Ladies, and Orc Babies until level 55 and Geffen Bounty Board Quests, kill Orcs and Old Ladies until level 60. You can stack the quests for Orc and Orc Lady kill counts by having both quests active!
Affordable HP Recovery
editWhen mobbing or tanking groups of monsters, especially for AOE leveling, Healing Items WILL need to be consumed and often even spammed.
Two popular and cheap healing items are Nepeta Cataria and Fresh Fish due to their cheap cost and low weight:
Nepeta Cataria can be purchased from Cat Paw Shrimp Merchant in Izlude or Prontera (or in Lasagna if starting as a Doram) for only 15z each (11z with max Discount).
Fresh Fish can be purchased from Cooking Merchant in Payon or Chef's Assistant at the docks of Alberta, as well as other cities, for only 250z each (190z with max Discount).
For a list of Healing Items, a comparison, and a list of a couple popular Healing Items, please see the main article: Healing Items.

Equipment
editI. Enchanter Mounds Quest
editAfter creating a Novice character, follow the section of this Izlude tutorial guide titled "Enchanter Mounds Quest" which involves NPC Enchanter Mounds in Izlude at . This quest will allow you to enchant the
Cotton Shirt that you get the moment you created your Novice character with the enchantments Max HP+100 and Max SP+50, provided that you complete the step that requires you to speak with NPC Enchanter Almond J in Izlude at . This cotton shirt proves itself useful once you change your class and can no longer equip most of the novice gear provided to you when you register at the academy. It is recommended to card this cotton shirt with cards that increase HP and/or SP such as
Decorated Evil Tree Card or
Pupa Card.
After providing Enchanter Mounds in Izlude at with a review of the service they provided during the enchanting quest, you can talk to Enchanter Almond J in Izlude at to enchant the novice weapon you receive after you change your class from Novice to Acolyte. The two enchantments provided are random and if you aren’t happy with the result you can enchant it again endlessly. You will likely use this enchanted weapon until you can do the level 26 Eden Group Equipments Quests which is the first part of that questline which rewards a weapon. Keep in mind Enchanter Almond J won’t enchant the Novice Main Gauche that you get for registering at the academy despite it being a novice weapon.
II. Eden Group Equipments Quests
editStarting at level 12 you can complete the Eden Group Equipments Quests to obtain free equipment for your class. This equipment is sufficient to get you to level 99.
