Rebirth (Alternative: Transcendence)

Sprite comparison for High Novice and High First Classes

Characters who reach Base Level 99 and Job Level 50 as a Primary Second Class get the option to go to Juno to be reborn, a process which is referred to as "Transcendence". When they are reborn, they will be sent to the town associated with their First Class, lose all of their Stats and Skills, and become a level 1/1 High Novice. These are more powerful versions of the regular Novice from which you can progress further into transcended versions of your class prior to rebirth. High Novices and High First Classes are identical to their pre-Transcendence counterparts except for the bonuses outlined below:

  • Differently-colored sprites.
  • Access to equipment marked as "Transcendent only".
  • Automatic access to Novice's Quest Skills First Aid and Play Dead without needing to have completed those quests first.
  • A permanent 25% increase to maximum HP and SP.
  • 100 Stat Points to start off with (as opposed to a regular Novice's 48 Stat Points).
  • +1 to all of their base Stats, granted incrementally as a High Novice over their Job Levels (following the table below):
Stat\Amount +1
STR 8
AGI 5
VIT 6
INT 9
DEX 3
LUK 2

As a High Novice, when you reach Job Level 10 you will be able to change into the High First Class matching your original First Class and you will automatically learn your First Class's Quest Skills when changing to it.

  • For example, if you originally chose to be an Archer, you will be able to change into a High Archer and automatically obtain the Arrow Repel and Arrow Crafting quest skills (even if you did not get them originally).
NOTE: If you are a High Novice at Job Level 10 and are unable to change into your High First Class when talking to the proper Guild NPC, you may need to return to Criatura Academy in Izlude and speak with Sprakki (iz_ac01 102/44)iz_ac01.png to enable the quest if you did not talk through her dialogue the first time around.

After reaching Job Level 50 as a High First Class, you will need to return to the Book of Ymir in Juno (see below) to change into the Transcendent Second Class matching your original Second Class.

  • Following the example above, if you originally chose to become a Hunter, you will be able to become a Sniper, which has access to all of the Skills available to their matching Second Class plus a number of Transcendent-exclusive Skills.

Once you reach Base Level 99 and Job Level 70, you will be able to job change into its Third Class, with access to even more Skills as well as a raised Base Level cap of 200 and a Job Level cap of 70.

  • Continuing the example above, you would be able to change from a Level 99 Sniper to a Level 99 Ranger (base level will not reset moving forward).

Finally, after all of that, you can change into your Fourth Class, with access to even more powerful Skills as well as a raised Base Level cap of 260 and a Job Level cap of 55.

  • Finally in this example, you would be able to change from a Level 200 Ranger to a Level 200 Windhawk.

Rebirth Walkthrough

edit
  1. Reach Base Level 99 and Job Level 50 as a Second Class Job.
  2. Head to the Sage Castle in northwest Juno (entrance at (yuno 87/321)yuno.png).
  3. Talk to Metheus Sylphe (yuno_in02 88/164)yuno_in02.png and pay 1,285,000 zeny as a donation to view the Book of Ymir.
    • This fee can be waived by taking a quest from the NPC to hunt a Runaway Book that appears in the fields around Juno and looting 1 6586.png Captured Book from it.
  4. When you are approved to, read the Book of Ymir (yuno_in02 93/205)yuno_in02.png, just to the north of Metheus Sylphe. Choose the option: "Leave your body to it." to be sent to Valhalla.
  5. After you've been warped to Valhalla, walk north as far as you can, roughly (valkyrie 42/82)valkyrie.png, and talk to the Valkyrie.
    • Before you talk to her, the character must not have any Character Add-ons, such as a Pushcart, Falcon, Cute Pet, Peco Peco or Halter Lead, and must have all of their Skill Points spent. They must also be carrying less than 500 Weight. Failure to meet this criteria will cause her to teleport you out of Valhalla.
      • Non-iRO servers may also require 0 Weight and 0 Zeny. Some equipment, despite weighing 0, may also be rejected by the Valkyrie.
  6. If you are Base Level 99 / Job Level 50, have under 500 Weight, no Character Add-ons, and no unallocated Skill Points on your character... the Valkyrie will recognize your power and you'll be reborn into a High Novice. You will then be warped to the town of your original First Class to begin again:
