Entrusted with the most dangerous weapons of their time, Gunslingers must learn how to use, maintain, and master the powerful tool known as "firearms". Propelling a projectile at high speeds using explosive gunpowder, they are able to fire at their enemies with unerring accuracy. Growing up in the polluted city of Einbroch in the Republic of Schwartzvald, they persevere through a difficult political climate and are able to become all the stronger for it. As they hunt down monsters with their powerful firearms, they wonder if change is possible in their lifetime.
Gunslingers are known for their high Ranged Physical Damage and HIT using various Guns, such as Revolvers, Shotguns, Rifles, and Gatling Guns. Gunslingers rely on high DEX to deal damage to monsters with high accuracy and they can either aim for high AGI for ASPD to snipe monsters quickly or high VIT to boost survivability as they decimate monsters with a hail of bullets. LUK may also be viable for critical hit snipers using Rifles.
Much like the Archer, Gunslingers have various kinds of elemental Bullets (like Fire, Wind, or Holy) that deal even more damage to monsters based on their element's weakness. Ammunition, and the ability to create Bullet Cases, can be bought from the Ammunition Dealer located in the Prontera Weapon Shop .
Job Change Guide
edit- See Gunslinger Job Change Guide for a full guide.
Once you are a Job Level 10 Novice, you have 2 methods of changing into a Gunslinger:
- Go to the Gunslinger Classroom on the 2nd Floor of Criatura Academy and speak to the NPC named Lusa . Select "Becoming a Gunslinger" and she will teleport you to the Gunslinger's Guild in Einbroch. Then, follow the Gunslinger Job Change Guide for information.

Regardless of how you Job Change, Master Millar will reward you with a
Novice Rifle [3], 2 x
Cartridge, and a
Silver Bullet Case.
Builds
editI. Pistol: Desperado
editRecommended stats by Base Level 99:
- STR: 1
- AGI: 1
- VIT: 90
- INT: 60
- DEX: 90
- LUK: 1
Desperado is a strong and fast AOE skill, only usable with a Pistol-type weapon, that explodes in a 7x7 area around the player for the cost of 10 Bullets per use. You do not need to target a monster to cast this so you can simply move around the map into mobs and spam this skill to kill groups of monsters at a time. You will not need Coins from Coin Flip to use this skill. Trigger Happy Shot and Tracking can also be used to save ammo on single monsters.
Due to all of this and needing no pre-cast time reduction, this is a great newbie-friendly build as long as you can afford ammo as you are even given a Pistol for free when changing to this job from Novice.
DEX remains the primary stat for this build, for damage and accuracy, with VIT for survivability and INT for a larger SP Pool and regen.
Primary Skills: Desperado, Trigger Happy Shot, Tracking
Complementary Skills: Coin Flip, Increase Accuracy
II. Shotgun/Grenade Launcher: Spread Shot
editRecommended stats by Base Level 99:
- STR: 1
- AGI: 1
- VIT: 90
- INT: 60
- DEX: 90
- LUK: 1
Spread Shot is a strong and fast AOE skill, only usable with Shotgun or Grenade Launcher-type weapons, that explodes in a 9x9 area around the monster targeted for the cost of 5 Bullets per use. You will not need Coins from Coin Flip to use this skill. Crowd Control Shot can be used to keep a single monster at bay by knocking it backwards, and Full Blast can be used to finish off single monsters. The Last Stand buff may be useful for this build if you are on a mobby enough map.
Due to all of this and needing no pre-cast time reduction, this is a great newbie-friendly build as long as you can afford ammo and can get a Shotgun/Grenade Launcher.
DEX remains the primary stat for this build, for damage and accuracy, with VIT for survivability and INT for a larger SP Pool and regen.
Primary Skills: Spread Shot, Crowd Control Shot, Full Blast
Complementary Skills: Coin Flip, Increase Accuracy, Last Stand
III. Critical Auto-Attack
editRecommended stats by Base Level 99:
- STR: 1
- AGI: 90
- VIT: 1
- INT: 1
- DEX: 90
- LUK: 60
This build is not recommended for leveling due to having to slowly kill monsters one-by-one, but it may be the cheapest build for a new player or chosen by players as a 'for fun' build. While it can be used with any Gun type, it is recommended to use a Pistol or Gatling Gun (with a special mention to Rifles for the increased Crit rate at the cost of ASPD if you have better gear). Pistols can utilize Chain Action (which acts like the Thief class's Double Attack for Guns) for more DPS, while Gatling Guns have access to Gatling Fever for a large boost to ATK and ASPD at the cost of Movement Speed and FLEE.
This build focuses on getting as much DEX, for ranged damage and HIT, and AGI, for ASPD and FLEE, to level by auto-attacking single monsters quickly. LUK will primarily be for increasing the Crit rate and adding small amounts of ATK, but you can forgo this for VIT if desired.
Primary Skills: Chain Action or Gatling Fever
Complementary Skills: Coin Flip, Increase Accuracy
Tips & Tactics
editGeneral Leveling Strategy
editBelow are three suggestions to efficiently level a new character:
- First, get gear and experience for your new character by following this Izlude tutorial guide from the forums (this guide is also listed down below in the Archer equipment section with additional details). Note that you do not need to complete all of these quests, and simply joining the Academy and getting some gear may be all that you need to start. Using the Job Classrooms on the 2nd Floor to more easily reach your Job Change NPC is helpful as well.
- Using
Catherina Von Blood [1], you can level as soon as base level 3-56 in Sunken Ship. Talk to Fisk and pay 250z to go to the . As an archer, you will be using Arrow Shower. - Without using
Catherina Von Blood [1], using the Geffen Bounty Board Quests kill Roda Frogs until level 21(they drop sticky webfeet that you can sell to players or turn in for the level 56-71 Eden Group Leveling Quests) , then using the Payon Bounty Board Quests kill Bigfoots until level 41. Then, using the Eden Group Leveling Quests and Geffen Bounty Board Quests, kill Orc Warriors, Orc Ladies, and Orc Babies until level 60.
You can accept multiple quests at one time, however when turning in do note that you cannot gain more than 1 full level from a single quest, so do try to turn the quests in when you have a low exp percentage or after you've job changed if you're job level 49.
Bullets, Bullet Cases, and Hotkeys
editPlacing both your Bullets and Bullet Cases on the hotkey bar will allow players to monitor how many Bullets they have left, open new Bullet Cases with a single key-press, and equip Bullets if you accidentally run out. This can be a life saver in emergency situations.
Affordable HP Recovery
editWhen mobbing or tanking groups of monsters, especially for AOE leveling, Healing Items WILL need to be consumed and often even spammed.
Two popular and cheap healing items are Nepeta Cataria and Fresh Fish due to their cheap cost and low weight:
Nepeta Cataria can be purchased from Cat Paw Shrimp Merchant in Izlude or Prontera (or in Lasagna if starting as a Doram) for only 15z each (11z with max Discount).
Fresh Fish can be purchased from Cooking Merchant in Payon or Chef's Assistant at the docks of Alberta, as well as other cities, for only 250z each (190z with max Discount).
For a list of Healing Items, a comparison, and a list of a couple popular Healing Items, please see the main article: Healing Items.

editComplete the Eden Group Equipments Quests to obtain free equipment for your class. These equipment are sufficient to get you to level 99.
II. Enchanter Mounds Quest
editAfter creating a Novice character, follow the Enchanter Mounds Quest guide. This will allow you to enchant a
Cotton Shirt that you get the moment you created your Novice character with Max HP + 100, Max SP +50. You will be talking to Almond J in Izlude .
III. General Weapon Recommendations
editGunslingers can use five different types of guns in order to attack and defeat their enemies. While any Gunslinger can use any type of gun, only certain skills can be used with each type of gun available. All guns are two-handed, so Gunslingers can't make use of shields unless they remove their weapon.
Weapons
editSee the Gun page for more detailed info.
Normally the defacto weapon for Gunslingers, the pistol allows for faster base attack speed at a cost of lower HIT and ATK.
Rifles are stronger than pistols and can come with HIT and CRIT bonuses. However, they are slower (ranking behind Gatling Guns) and are limited in the skills they can work with. To make up for this, the skills that can be performed with a Rifle deal extra damage, compared to when using a Pistol.
These electro-mechanical weapons are nearly the same in comparison to pistols, slightly slower but offering no loss of Attack Speed. Gatling Guns are centered around auto attacking, its specialized skills focusing on raising attack and attack speed.
Shotguns are powerful, pump action weapons that provide splash damage on normal attacks, but at the cost of a very slow attack speed.
These monsters pack some of the highest base attack in the game, and allow the use of elemental bullets called "spheres". They have the slowest attack speed of all guns, but they have a chance to break armor at close range.
Armor
editGunslingers can only wear armor that states that it can be worn by all, or all except Novice. With Battlegrounds, Gunslingers also get exclusive use of the following:
Headgear
editCurrently, Gunslingers can wear any headgear that is wearable by non-transcendent Archer class characters, with the exception of caps, goggles, and binoculars.
